She Likes Her Name!

Doctors appointment today went well. No baby any time soon though. One really cool thing? Ava likes her name. The midwife was listening to her heartbeat through the Doppler and asked, "So, do you have a name picked out?"

I said, "Yes, it’s Avalyn." And as soon as I said ‘Avalyn’ the sound of her heart on the Doppler sped up!

The midwife laughed and said, "Wow, sounds like she likes her name!"

:D

What an awesome day!

Some People's Kids

I officially do not like the team Keith’s baseball team played against today. They were little hecklers. They said the most horrible things and made the girl on Keith’s team cry. And that little girl was better than anyone on that team. If those were my kinds I would not have hesitated to spank them or wash their mouths out with soap. AND the coach was encouraging their behavior! Ugh! I wanted to slap her!

One cool thing though, I watched lightning hit the cell tower by our house. As soon as that bolt hit, my call to Matt dropped instantly. Needless to say he had to work overtime. :)

Hello My Name Is...

So today we had our birth class. It seemed like a waste of time until the end when they told us more about hospital policy and what the food is like. Of course I’m thinking about the food, I’m pregnant!

The best part about class was the girl next to us. She must have been fresh out of high school or still in it, but after seeing the birthing video she told her mom she didn’t want to do it anymore. Her mom said, and I quote. “It’s a little late for that now.” I had to stop myself from laughing out loud. The poor girl was panicked.

I got to try Thai food for the first time today, it was pretty good. That was lunch. Dinner was Hofbrau, which was great as usual. I ate a whole quesadilla and was still hungry, and those things are huge! I also got to see a few of my uncles and my cousin Tova. I haven’t seen her in a while, so that was fun. It was a pretty good day. :)

Hospital

Toured the hospital today, it was great! I’m so excited! They wanted my birth plan but I really don’t have one. I signed the waver for the epidural and got all the other paperwork finished. I told them the only thing I didn’t want was an episiotomy and they said they only do those in an emergency so it looks like my only wish will be followed. But if it has to happen it has to happen. I want what’s best for Avalyn, and I figure if I go in with no expectations and let the doctors do their job we’ll be fine.

Baby Shower!

So, I went to Val’s shower today, it was fun! I got to see Lindsey who I haven’t seen since graduation. Got to watch Val open some really great gifts, and she was glowing! She’s going to be an awesome mom. I can’t believe how close we’re all getting to the end. Penny could have Andy any day now. I’m due in June, and Val in July. Unbelievable.
