Keith's Room!

Guess who's room is finally making progress? You guessed it (the title gave it away didn't it?) Keith's room!

It started out as a white room with pink carpet and a pink light fixture - totally boy right? Well, it would have been pre-WWII, but not nowadays!

I don't have a full room pic, but here Avalyn is sleeping on his bed!

Still have a few finishing touches (not sure if I like the layout. The bed is next to the door, the desk under the window, little table next to the desk on the closet side, dresser next to the desk on the other side, and the bookshelf next to the closet. Then I have to find a place for his planets on the wall. Well, that and switch Avalyn's light fixture with his pink one! Wow... guess there's more to do than I thought...

We'll figure it out!

In the meantime - back to unpacking. Yey..?

Milestones!

Since I can't find Avalyn's calendar or baby book (yey moving!) I'm going to put the dates of her recent milestones (and events) here. :)

May 26-28 - Top teeth started coming in
June 1 - Colors with a crayon
June 6 - Started walking
June 8 - Knows three signs: "More"; "All done"; and "Ball."
June 14 - Stands from squatting position
June 20 - First fire in the firepit, first time in the pool, learned the sign; "Milk"

My little baby is now a smarty pants toddler! :)

One Year Old

My sweet girl is one year old today! Time has flown by!

To celebrate our birthday, I will post a side by side.

Me at age 1                                        and Avalyn age 1.

My mom saved the blue dress and bonnet from my one year photo, and we used them for Avalyn's milestone. We share a birthday, and now a blue dress. I'm making sure to save clothing for Avalyn, too. Who knows what kinds of memories we will be able to recreate together.

Who wears it best? My little baby doll, that's who!

Has anyone else done something similar? Or are we just total oddballs?

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband Matty! I seem to remember saying last year that maybe we'd go on a date this year. That didn't happen! But I'm not disappointed at all.

We spent the day unpacking and playing with Avalyn. We did get bourbon chicken for dinner but otherwise we didn't do anything that would be considered date-like.

My life has changed so much from this time last year and I would never go back. I'm so thankful every day for my husband and beautiful baby girl and Keith (but he wasn't with us today). I hope next year is as good as this year. Although, I do hope to be unpacked by then! ;)

My surprise from Matty! My favorite flower! And I can plant them somewhere outside at our new house! Yey! :D
