Keith's Birthday Party!

Keith turned 10 on the 1st! Hard to believe we have a ten year old in the house! We had a party for him yesterday - a Lego Party. The boy loves his Lego's, just like his Dad.

I made a Lego "Keith" and utensil holder out of Lego's for the occasion. Not pictured are the napkin holders I made to match! :)

Lego banner! Handmade by me! I used construction paper and washable markers (things every mom has in her house, I'm sure) to make the Lego's, then used twine to hang them on and clothespins to hang them with.  I really like how they turned out!

Matt blowing up balloons in standard Lego colors.

Yep, I sorted the cups, plates, and napkins to make a Lego rainbow!

The kids "helping" with the party prep.

Oh, static electricity, you are so fun!

How I decorated Keith's door while he was sleeping. :)

The table is all set up for the party!

This is as far as I could go with streamers. Too much work for being 38 weeks pregnant!

Keith's big gift!

The birthday cake (in Lego colors), topped with Lego men (and women).

Blowing out his candles!

Fun in the pool after the party. I love this picture because Avalyn is yelling at Andy for being on the slide, and Keith is trying to dunk Anthony under water. My kids are vicious!

Hope everyone else had an excellent weekend! I love birthdays... and I love that all of ours are in June!

Four Year Anniversary!

It's Matt and my four year anniversary today!

In honor of that he accompanied me to my doctor's appointment and went with me to fill Keith's script! Clearly, we don't know how to celebrate...

What we did do today was the kids hand prints in cement for their grandparents (a combo of Mother's day and Father's Day).

Keith's already finished stepping stones.

Seeing if his hands still fit (it's been a week, they may have grown ^_~).

Time to get Avalyn's prints!

Success!

I think the grandparents will like these.

Keith showing Avalyn how small her hands are compared to his.

He's finally realized that "she's so little!"

Amazing.

Can't wait to see the finished products!

Memorial Day Fun!

Some pictures from our Memorial Weekend we spent with my parents at the cottage.

Avalyn in her new swimsuit from Grandpa and Grandma. The hat was a second hand store find! I added a ribbon to help keep it on her head.

Avalyn thought a weed was a snake and was concerned when Grandma picked it up.

Filling up a tube for Avalyn to float in.

Turns out Avalyn wanted the blue tube. Good thing Keith loves his sister.

He wanted a mohawk so I gave him one!

Keith smashed the sandcastle and Avalyn was less than thrilled. "No, Keith!"

My kiddos!

I hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend! We sure enjoyed it!

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day was pretty nice this year. Usually I spend six hours in the car because we have to pick Keith up, but this year we were about fifteen minutes from home when Avalyn got sick. I had to turn the car around and get Avalyn home and cleaned up (as well as the car seat and her clothes), and Matt went on his own to pick up the boy.

He also picked up something else.

A new computer! Needless to say I was shocked. It's made for graphics and has a quad core so hopefully it will be able to keep up with me and photoshop! Yes, of course there are already finger prints on it. *Sigh*

I also got yoga pants (because I'm too big for the waistband of my other pants), and a nice little card. :)

I also packed Nicolas's hospital bag. There's some burp clothes, a receiving blanket that my mom made, a couple different outfits (who knows how big he'll be), a music box (mostly hiding it from Avalyn in there), a binky (also hiding from Avalyn), and his baby book.

Pretty sure this won't close.

It won't stay this neat.

Also, on Mother's Day, before we got in the car for that fateful, smelly, trip, I took pictures of the work Matt did outside. Finally right?

One tree gone. The tree in the upper right is next (it's dead).

Five more tree's gone. Seriously, I'm not thrilled with cutting down trees, but it had to be done.

Avalyn about thirty minutes before the vomit car incident. She loves Daddy's garden.

Matt removing another tree.

So, it was a good day (puking aside), and we got a lot done (I super-cleaned more of the house... definitely nesting!). Also, over the weekend my baby girl hit another milestone. She's 23 months old now! She'll be a full fledged two year old in less than a month. And soon after that (or before, who really knows?) she's going to be a big sister.

I got her floppy hat at Once Upon A Child for two dollars, and added the ribbon today to keep it on her head. And it keeps those pesky mosquitoes away (sort of - one got her on her right eyelid and it looks like she got in a fight. Poor girl!).

Anyone else have a nice Mother's Day? Or alter an article of clothing? Are mosquitoes this insane everywhere or is it just here? It's insane. Like walking into a big black cloud of biting and nastiness every time I go outside!

Weekend Fun!

This weekend we had some much needed fun. We went out to one of Matt’s co-workers house and had a good time hanging out.

Unfortunately, Avalyn was not very nice to their dog or 4-month-old… she’s a bit too rough. We had an amazing spaghetti dinner and talked a lot. We even got to go on a walk to a farm down the road and the kids got to feed the horses. We didn’t leave until almost 11:00PM, but it was totally worth getting home at midnight! So good to be able to make friends closer to home!

Getting the kiddos ready for their walk

Even Buddy the dog had a place in the stroller

The horses

Daddy was putting a carrot in Avalyn's hand while Keith tried to figure out what horse to feed

"Come here horsie!"

The brown horse was ready to eat!

Avalyn says, "All right, the horses ate, so I need to have some fishies." Meanwhile Teegan watched the action quietly from the sidelines.

What did you do this weekend?

Operation Great Wolf Lodge!

We did it! We had our mini vacation at Great Wolf Lodge! It was so much fun! The whole family was pretty satisfied with the whole weekend. It was nice to play in the water and get away from the house for 24 hours.

It was also so much fun to see how well Alyssa and Avalyn played together. They are going to be best friends, they were such good girls! It was also awesome to be able to spend time with Val again, we haven’t been able to talk and hang out for a long time. It was much needed.

I think we’re also going to make it an annual event. I can’t wait till next spring break!

It's Alyssa! Isn't she a cutie? I got this shot completely by accident. A happy accident indeed.

Oh yeah, they're buddies. Can you believe it's March in Michigan and our girls are in shorts? I can't. Wow!

They even walk in stride.

Baby mullets unite!

Our room!

This is where the kids stayed.

The inside

The sink - yes I got carried away.

Where we stayed

Sliding door!

This is what happens when I turn my back for three seconds.

The view from our room.

Our patio that we didn't use because it was raining. Bummer!

Full view! The ceilings were really high.

Our room number!

The Waterpark. Wow.

Avalyn looks so little by comparison.

Avalyn loved the giant water bucket.

The runaways!

She loved the texture in this area.

The daddies taking their baby girls to the water bucket.

Alyssa had the best reaction!

Look away!

Time to relax after the water bucket excitement!

Val, Matt, and Keith went under the bucket one last time before it was time to go home.

Matt helping Avalyn put on her golden shoes.

The Great Wolf Lobby!

The lobby again!

The fireplace

Sitting with a bear. They were both tired.

Playing downstairs after their nap. What's more fun than throwing things at Keith?

Nothing apparently!

Did everyone else have a great spring break? I hope so!
